Start/finish location: Ashover Village hall car park

Route description

• Head out the car park and turn left towards the main part of the village and head to the church.
• From the church follow the footpath south east following the two walls. and keeping the village behind you.
• Enter the forest going fairly straight until you encounter a T junction. Turn left at this point towards a road.
• On the road turn left then immediate right down the side of a house to a bridge by a river. Go over the river following the road around the bend then turn left going up hill into the forest.
• Follow a well maintained path to a cross section of footpaths.
• Turn right going north west, at this point you will see Ashover on your right [good photos here].
• Keep going straight to the next junction then turn right going down hill now. Enter the village turn right then left up the street towards the church [village shop here and pub].
• follow the road back to the village hall car park.
• Finish.

A nice route with good views of Ashover village. the route goes past good pubs and the village shop. while some of the paths are steep, it is a good mix of up and down and flat. Hope you enjoy.
