About US

Chris Bradley is the founder of CJB training and adventure. A freelance outdoor instructor with years of experience conducting outdoor activities both within the United Kingdom and abroad from the USA to the rivers of Europe. As a trained college lecturer with the knowledge and theory to back up his practice. His vision is to develop those who seek adventure and freedom in the outdoors.

We provide the following activities

Canoeing

Canoeing is an activity which involves paddling a canoe with a single-bladed paddle. Usually with two people per canoe.

Kayaking

Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving over water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front.

Gorge walking

The activity of gorge walking involves adventure, exploration, and discovery as you overcome challenging boulders and sweeping becks throughout the gorge. An exploration through beautiful and natural rock formations and the discovery of the magnificent natural features within the gorge

Hill walking

The term hillwalking broadly describes the activity of walking in hills and mountains. It's generally a British term, more commonly known as hiking in other countries

Orienteering

Orienteering is a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.

Navigation courses (lowland and mountain)

Teaching participants how to read map using compasses and the landscape as a whole. The instructor will follow a syllabus of what to teach during the course.

Bushcraft

Bushcraft is the use and practice of skills, thereby acquiring and developing knowledge and understanding, in order to live with nature.

Stand Up Paddle boarding

Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is a water sport born from surfing with modern roots in Hawaii. Stand up paddleboarders stand on boards that are floating on the water, and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.

Raft building

Raft Building is a brilliant activity that everyone can have a go at. The challenge is to build a raft, float it and paddle it around a course. The key aim is to build a raft that can carry the whole team across a body of water without falling apart.

Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a sport in which participants climb up, across, or down natural rock formations. Further, the same principle is correct on artificial climbing structures.

Mountaineering

Also called mountaineering, the main focus is to climb/hike up mountains (over 600 metres). This may invoice elements of scrambling.

Guided hikes

A guided hiking tour is the perfect way to experience a hike. You can let your guide handle the harder aspects of the hike, and you can just enjoy all the beauty that the hike has to offer.

Team building

The action or process of causing a group of people to work together effectively as a team, especially by means of activities and events designed to increase motivation and promote cooperation
